Artificial intelligence is everywhere today. Students are using AI apps to finish homework, teachers are using AI tools to create notes, and parents are even using AI to plan their children’s study schedules. It feels like AI is slowly entering every corner of education.

But here’s an important question:
Should AI really be used in education? Or is it harming more than helping?

Many experts believe that depending too much on AI in education can create long-term problems. And honestly, if we look closely, the issues are bigger than we realise.

In this article, I’m breaking down why AI should not be used in education, what problems it creates, and why real learning always needs real humans.

Let’s start with the most important reason.


1. AI Makes Students Dependent Instead of Confident

The biggest danger is this:

AI makes learning too easy.

So students stop thinking for themselves.

Earlier, if a student had a doubt, they worked through books, asked a teacher, or tried different methods until they understood. That struggle is what builds confidence.

But now?

  • AI gives instant answers
  • AI writes essays
  • AI solves math problems step-by-step
  • AI even summarises whole chapters in one click

This means students get the answer without any effort.
And when you remove the effort, you remove the learning.

Long-term result:

Students may score good marks temporarily, but they won’t develop actual understanding. Real-life problem solving gets weaker.

Education is not about getting answers — it’s about understanding the method.


2. AI Destroys Creativity and Imagination

Children naturally have imagination. They draw weird things, write strange stories, and think differently — and that is a good thing.

But AI tools:

  • generate drawings
  • write poems
  • create stories
  • suggest ideas

…within seconds.

It feels helpful, but slowly, it kills creativity.

Why imagine something yourself when AI can do it faster?
Why think deeply about a topic when AI can write a full essay?

This is dangerous.

3. Students Stop Learning How to Research

Earlier, researching a topic meant:
